After Holding a CCIE for six years (#45603)and being in the networking industry since 2007 and contracting since 2010 working for some prestigious companies such as Cisco, AT&T, Virgin Media, the NHS in the UK and many more - I can say that I’ve seen some things. One of those things is people entering into the job market without the pre-requisite experience and sometimes it can’t be helped. But actually nine times out of 10, the truth of the matter is it Can be helped, but people just don’t know the right way to go about it. Now although you cannot replicate the pressure of a live environment, or having to work till 4 in the morning on a P1 situation, there is something to be said for being somewhat of a lab rat. That is, practicing scenarios & technologies that may occur in the real world. And what better way to get to terms with these scenarios than being mentored by someone who’s been there and done that.
